Back in good cold Finland! (hahaa - not cold)

Almost a week has passed by and we're back to our old routines. The project was a hand full of work and I think that everyone admits it. So it has been a real pleasure to rest and enjoy of the upcoming summer - the temperature has stayed in 20 degrees for several days. Yet it is not as green as in Stuttgart but just you wait!

On my opinion the project was really interesting and eyes opening for both groups. We were keen to find out things about Stuttgart and most of all our new international friends. I think that our own group started to work quite well together but the work between these two different nations is only in the beginnig. Like assumed, there were few quiet and shy persons in both groups. Some didn't know so much english and others just like more to follow than act. It is also a sad fact that most of the Finnish groups members graduate this spring and most likely don't have any chance to take part into the project in the fall. In a way it all has to start from the begin again.

Unfortunately it's time to get in to the paperwork. All sort of diaries and raports must be done before it is all finished for this spring. But before that we need to just enjoy!

Fairwell Stuttgart

Only few hours left in here. İn the morning at 07:37 İ take a train towards Frankfurt. Also the rest of our group is flying back home tomorrow and they will arrive to Lahti after nine o'clock. We are all both sad but anxious to get back home. Working on the project has been exhausting but really giving. And exactly like Herr Flugfelder said during the fairwell party, probably the best thing we can bring with us to Finland is the transfer into actual work. We practised to see through the glasses of an partially sighted, tried to live as a deaf person and tried to resolve the problems which the physically impaired persons might find. Before when we didn't think these things, we didn't notice them. Now as professionals we could use these informations in our work and also try to make the surroundings better for a handicapped persons.

Our last whole day in Stuttgart

İt is sad but true - tomorrow we all leave Stuttgart behind and fly back to Finland. İn the morning we started with the final presentation of our works. All four groups (organizations, infrastructure, shops and authorities) had yesterday gathered all the notices and information into a power point show that was shown for the whole group. The presentations were good and every group had found good points while searching the city. Our leaders were also satisfied so it seems that one part of the project is now well done and finished.

The Finnish group's members had a short feedback from the leaders and after it was time to have lunch and  just to relax for a while. At two o'clock most of our group started their way to the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Few of us went to the Kunstmuseum in the central of the city. The tours in the museums took from two to three hours and then it was time to prepare ourselves for the fairwell party which started at six o'clock.

To be continued...

It's a manic Monday

The whole day just flew by while we were finishing the project. Tomorrow is the big day when it is time to present our works' results. The day was full of stressed people with a lot of problems. We had time until two o'clock to finish our works. We had to answer the questions for each place we visited and write down the answers from the interviews and also make a power point show of the results we have been finding during the last six days. It was a lot of work but now we are done and ready to give our presentation tomorrow morning!
